CIMEX
+++++++
Version 1.01 Compiled 11/01/92
a public domain Wildcat! SysOps' utility by Michael Conley.
(designed for use with Wildcat! 3.x data files)
[ requires BRUN40.EXE in the path ]
What it does:
-------------
CIMEX reads your CONFDESC.DAT file and produces a text file (CIMEX.DAT)
containing all of the conference numbers and descriptions. You may edit
this file with any text editor and then import it back into CONFDESC.DAT
by running CIMEX a second time.
Running the program:
--------------------
WORDS OF CAUTION: Make a backup copy of CONFDESC.DAT before running CIMEX.
Every precaution is taken to ensure that only VALID DATA is placed into
CONFDESC.DAT, but we want to be sure you can recover if there is an error
writing to the file.
There is no configuration required for CIMEX. Simply run the program in
the same directory where your CONFDESC.DAT is located, using the correct
command line switch for the desired operation:
CIMEX EXPORT -- this will read CONFDESC.DAT and write the text file, named
CIMEX.DAT as text. You may edit it with any text editor.
CIMEX IMPORT -- this will read CIMEX.DAT in the current directory, and
then import the descriptions into CONFDESC.DAT.
That's all there is to it!
PROBLEMS, SUGGESTIONS:
======================
CIMEX is public domain. I don't seek or accept any donations for this or
any of my other Wildcat! utility programs, including TODAYBBS, FLOP, MSTAT,
USTAT, and others.
I welcome suggestions, and will try to help (no guarantees) if there are
problems.
You may contact me at The Charlatan's Cabin BBS (213) 654-7337. Mention
your Wildcat! registration number in the comment and you'll be upgraded to
membership without the usually required registration by mail.
You may also leave a message via CompuServe (70250,220).
Please, NO VOICE CALLS. This isn't meant to be unfriendly, but with
the price of public domain software these days ... I just can't afford
to be "on call." I WILL respond to your questions via my BBS or CompuServe,
or via the Mustang Software registered SysOp BBS.
